The next movie here about demon-possessed people and the Jesuit priests that wrangle them is billed as “an all-new story set in The Exorcist universe and is not a sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer” per the press release. Pic will be produced by Trevor Macy on behalf of Intrepid Pictures and Flanagan via his new Red Room Pictures banner. John Scherer will also be working on the film on behalf of Intrepid.

Downside: Mike Flanagan is making an exorcist remake
Upside: Rahul Kohli is probably gonna be in an exorcist movie

I feel like he should be trusted with IP like this tbh
This not needed but exorcist believer trilogy getting scrapped after they spent all that money on the rights is hilarious
Still don't know wtf they were even going for with that

Eh. I already think his work sometimes feels more aesthetic than emotional (Midnight Mass being the major exception). I fear this could enable his worst impulses. I’ve never been a fan of horror movies that function like haunted houses.
Exorcist believer here today gone tomorrow ass movie
I wonder if they wanted a trilogy since they gave it to Danny Mcbrides team that did the Halloween ones.
Letting the guys who made Eastbound, Vice Principals & Gemstones make Halloween movies felt kinda inspired and fresh but those movies kinda got worse (I really liked them all tbh) and then they 10000% fumbled the exorcist opportunity
Now 8 months later they’ve already greenlit another
Hill House and Midnight Mass are masterpieces so I’m always in for anything that Flanagan makes
But this is the last chance to redeem the Exorcist franchise tbh

oh yeah for sure they thought it was gonna be another franchise for them
I don't get the need to go back to this franchise when it's been ripped off to death for decades.....

House of Asher was garbage. Midnight Mass was good for like 4 episodes and then straight trash after. Wanna hold out some hope for this one though

Rahul beard got superpowers I'm convinced
Last movie did so bad they scrapped the trilogy immediately my god
Flanagan is so hit or miss for me. Dr Sleep was f***ing terrible and not scary at all
I'm worried that he will f*** this up too
