do you think people are naturally inclined towards evil
or do we have something inside that tells us right from wrong
People are not naturally inclined to be evil its circumstances, environment that lead some to evil acts. Like you see babies sharing things with others first even when being hungry. Thats the natural state I believe

and over time we become corrupted slowly destroying ourselves
People aren’t inherently evil, but they will hoard resources for their family and loved ones before caring about others which is similar to how a pack of wild animals act

I think we all have some innate traits which arent good or bad, which combined with our experiences and environment shape us and our decisions.
Let's first define evil. The best definition I can come up with is that evil is the act of inflicting unnecessary suffering upon someone or something capable of experiencing it. "Unnecessary" meaning that it's done simply for the sake of it, without any purpose driving it. For example, an Auschwitz guard making starving prisoners carry heavy bags of salt across the concentration camp, and then back, is pointless and would be considered evil.
Now, are humans inherently evil? No, but humans have an intrinsic capacity for committing acts of evil when given the chance to do so, e.g. the Stanford prison experiment. It is highly unlikely that if given the power and freedom of any responsibility, either by being part of a mob or having anonymity, that you wouldn't show your evil tendencies and, in a twisted way, even enjoy it. Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning is a good book on this topic.
That's my take on it.
