On Aug 29, a number of links associated with the keyword “bagets“ were posted to Facebook, purportedly offering child p***ography for sale. After being discovered, the posts were removed from the platform and reported to the FBI. Searches for this term now display a warning about child p***ography.

The creator of the video below is a proponent of the internally-inconsistent, debunked far-right QAnon conspiracy theory, which is frequently described as a cult. The theory alleges that “a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles running a global child sex-trafficking ring is plotting against Donald Trump”. The conspiracy theory's claim that Facebook allows the sale of such materials (or even profits from them) is entirely unfounded.

i saw the same post on twitter discussing this and there is no way in hell i am going on FB to verify if this is true. however i do know mass pedophilia and s*** is a MASSIVE issue on twitter and discord (and used to be on Tumblr because of grooming). social media websites need to get their heads out of their asses

Just letting anyone ITT know that if you're even slightly curious about this being true and decide to search these terms on facebook for yourself, it is extremely likely that your account's search activity will be logged by authorities (especially since this has been talked about by tons of people on facebook for at least 6 hours now). And IIRC, simply using a search bar to look up terms that specifically lead to cp like this (regardless of intent) are subject to investigation and charges.
