One of the greatest shows you will watch,
Mike flew to South America with his Italian orchestra to perform Italian pop tunes from cinema & radio. Watch his mannerisms & masterful control of Italian dialect. Watch every orchestra member so happy to be there. 😭😭😭
I wonder what Mike finished for 2020 other than bungle. In the interview, he wouldn’t say what he completed. 🤔
Not likely these two:
Rahzel - 😒
Automator project 😒

NEW FNM
criminally underrated 😣😣😣
also this one been on heavy rotation, i love the “go-go-go-go”
@Ithaka im thinking the riff at the 1:05 part might be the best in their discog or one of them at least
I wonder if Mike ever had a run in with Billy Corgan. I’ve never heard of anything. But mike is so vocal, I can see Corgan getting triggered at something Mike says about another band or artist that Billy is friend of. 🤔
NEW FNM
I know he’s talked about a finished Tomahawk record and an almost-finished Dead Cross record....
@Ithaka You ever listen to the bands the other guys in Tomahawk are/were in? Battles, Jesus Lizard, Cows, etc.?

mm interesting pick
ofc jim deserves all the love of the world
i know it’s a solo and not a riff but the one on epic is so grandiose, even more in how it blends in a such versatile song, it’s remarkable this exists in the first place and was their hit really looking back
but as a riff ima go with this one tho
it’s so f***ing rocking yet such an distinctive riff

Battles are probably the most accessible. Tomahawk’s drummer John Stanier (who was also in Helmet in the 90’s) has been in that band since the early/mid-00’s. This singer isn’t with them anymore but this is their big song:
The guitarist/founder/primary songwriter of Tomahawk, Duane Denison, played guitar in the Jesus Lizard from the late 80’s to the late 90’s. They were great and have gotten back together for tours and shows but have yet to record anything new.
The Cows, the band Tomahawk’s original bassist Kevin Rutmanis was in, are an acquired taste.

I randomly read about them in Rolling Stone when the album came out. The reviewer described this song as TV on the Radio meets Aphex Twin.
That’s cool Pitchfork gave them album of the year. Now they’re the new Rolling Stone and Ariana Grande will get album of the year, haha. I’ve seen them once since they’ve become a threesome and it was awesome to watch that dude play live. That high-ass cymbal.
The singer from the Cows would come out sometimes and stab people in the front row with a plastic push-in knife.
