idk it just doesnt sound that good to me overall for some reason. theyre overtly sons of Zappa so the humor/diversity aspect isnt what turns me off (i assume it does for a lot of people)

it always sounds cool enough when im listening (besides the super annoying parts) but just isn't something ive been able to go back and repeatedly listen for pleasure etc

maybe in a few more years...

Yeah, they started as a death metal band. I feel like they’re more influenced by that and film soundtrack music than anything else.

It is odd but if you think about the construction of this group: Dj's don't realize that Mike Patton,John, Duane, Trevor are creating Alt Rock radio friendly songs. There;s punchy hooks, every song is 3 n half minutes. There's guitar/bass/drums/vocals.

It's right there. The lp clocks in at 39 minutes, he made it easy for radio, easier than 123, you don't even need edits. There really is no language issue on most of this.
