Faizon Love says he has no hard feelings toward Jay-Z.
The actor and comedian made headlines this month after he was seemingly referenced in Pusha-T and Hov’s new track, “Neck & Wrist.” In the final verse, Jay reaffirms his status in the game and uses homophones to address comments made by Love, who accused Jay of lying about his past d***-dealing days.
“The phase I’m on, love, I wouldn’t believe it either,” he raps on the Pharrell-produced cut. “I’d be like, ‘Jay-Z’s a cheater,’/I wouldn’t listen to reason either.”
Faizon was asked about the reference during a recent interview on VladTV, admitting the lyrics initially went over his head.
“I didn’t get it at first, ’cause it’s some rap thing, and it’s not clear,” he said, before mocking everyone who claimed Jay was dissing him. “First of all I’m not a rapper. I have no bars, at all … I listened to it. He didn’t really diss me.”
The Friday star then compared the situation to a game of tennis, in which he and Hov were simply rallying.
“Back at you, Love. We all love. It’s all love now, you know what I’m saying?” he said, before adding, “I think I ruffled some feathers.”
Jay’s lyrics were a response to Faizon’s 2020 sit-down with VladTV, when he highlighted the dangers of rappers glorifying a life of crime. He specifically called out the Roc Nation boss for not only glamorizing d***-dealing, but also lying about it.
“When Jay-Z creates this whole ‘I’m a d*** dealer, I’m a d*** lord’ persona, these kids say, ‘We gotta do it, too, to be like Jay-Z,’ he said during the interview. “Not knowing that this is all made up s***.”
This wouldn't have happened to Drake.
Jay “Enemy of the people” Z
Professional snake and enemy of the people
The thing is: Jay-Z has already been proven to be a dealer.
Even his harshest critics and haters who've known him like Dame Dash and DeHaven have confirmed this.
By no means was he Frank Lucas or Freeway Ricky but he was moving weight and making money off of it.
I sorta see where Faizon is coming from because Hov's "rags to riches" story has influenced some people to join the dope game in hope that they'll use the d*** money to make a come up like Hov but he's picking the wrong battle.
Hov already moved past this himself and stopped focusing on coke raps years ago. Even on that Pusha track, Hov was more so in the grown man/luxury rap space. So, it's beating a dead horse.

Did you know the CEO of Roc Nation is a federal informant and only got pardoned recently by Donald Trump as a gift to Jay for being such a loyal promoter of his agenda?
rumor has it op was last seen blindfolded in a tinted ROC NATION van headed towards a unnamed frozen lake in Siberia

Thats not the point. The point is that being a dealer or glorifying it is bad for the culture
Edit: he seemed pretty proud of it though
