This album reunites the band with producer Neal Avron, who last produced Folie Ă  Deux.

Looking to be one of the best comebacks oty the lead single is definitely one of their best in over a decade

The chorus of heart break feels so good is awesome but ngl I hate that “oohawhoaaohwhoa” post chorus thing - feels like pointless stadium rock pandering on a song that until then feels above that

Honestly that’s my biggest complaint with the album: too many moments of “why did you repeat that line to end the phrase” or “why is there a nanana bit again” on songs that absolutely didn’t need them

Overall the sound is absolutely better than anything they’ve done in a decade, though. The second half is the stronger by far, I’ll have to give it another listen but this is easily their best work since pre-hiatus while still unfortunately carrying some of their worse tendencies from the newer albums along with it
