I think I got it, my top ten fav artists oat unranked
Pretty good, never really been into Tool & U2 tbh.
wish i liked OPN more, always been more of a Tim Hecker guy
same. OPN has a few great songs but I never really managed to get into him. Sometimes he just copies Kosmische Musik (e.g. Klaus Schulze) and other times he is actually pretty interesting. However, he is def talented.
we had a cute black bear in the yard last night
also a grizz was prowling our yard while we were on our road trip
rare. CO's relocated him.
OG Elvis in Memphis or CD reissue?

well for im curious what you think of rejuvenated Elvis so if youre into it maybe check out the jams from If I Can Dream on from this first;
then i think the cd reissue of this sounds amazing (dont miss those bonus track singles);
then if you really liked that, he came out with another clutch of recordings also done in early '69 during one of the most potent creative bursts ive ever seen that is almost as good;
ive been basking in this s*** for months and i cant believe how stunning every single performance is
Can I trouble you for your ranking of Tool’s albums?
Aenima > Lateralus > 10,000 Days > Undertow > Fear Innoculum
Kendrick over Bowie
Bowie ain’t even my #11, it’d either be Pantera or The Beatles

I’d probably have the same
Although I flip flop 1 & 2 frequently.

thats crazy. at least you got kinks in there.

I just felt like being honest to what truly moves me. Bowie is my dude but he’s never impacted me as emotionally as much as others.

that fair but i just cant recall hearing you talking about kendrick near as much as bowie. thought he was in your top 3 tbh.

Well, growing with artists in real time plays a massive role with the rappers I included. They each have 40-50 songs I can run through straight without getting fatigued and haven’t disappointed me yet either.
But if Bowie put out Idiot and LFL instead of Iggy, I’d put him in over Kendrick.

thats why im so floored by this Elvis period.... i started hard chrono with him when i was 19 and he was 19.... now im in my mids 30s listening to his mid 30s work and it has been such a long road
ill put together my personal top 10 later

Growing with great past music has the same effect with present music but there are so many factors in present music being released that only gets better such as seeing it enjoyed by others (concert or a party), living through anticipation then having it exceeded, etc.

yeah very few current artists compare to Kanye and Arcade Fire to me cause i had all their albums the instant they came out and and have seen them in concert a bunch of times
Bowie ain’t even my #11, it’d either be Pantera or The Beatles
didnt know you were such a pantera fan lol

Also with my method I still get to anticipate later masterpieces
Usually hate on them but watching all the biopics from 50s artists whilst balls deep in the Best Songs Of The 50s thread has been deeply satisfying so far
did Walk The Line and Ray which were great cause I had only just dipped my toe into the dust back when they came out.. next up is Carpenters Elvis, Busey's Buddy Holly, Quaid's ridiculous Jerry Lee Lewis, Sissy's Loretta, Chadwick's James Brown.... Anybody got recs?
