Once Upon a Time is a brilliant album as well. No hit singles but all the songs work together as one idea like Thick as a Brick

"This sounds like if Depeche Mode got time-traveled to the 1960s and just had to make the best of it."

Factors that have been cited as leading to the decline of disco in the United States include economic and political changes at the end of the 1970s, as well as burnout from the hedonistic lifestyles led by participants. In the years since Disco Demolition Night, some social critics have described the "Disco sucks" movement as implicitly macho and bigoted, and an attack on non-white and non-heterosexual cultures. It was also interpreted being part of a wider cultural "backlash", the move towards conservatism, that also made its way into US politics with the election of conservative president Ronald Reagan in 1980, which also led to Republican control of the United States Senate for the first time since 1954, plus the subsequent rise of the Religious Right around the same time.
in case you were wondering when things exactly went to s***

Genuinely don’t know what you’re referring to.
this guy not surprisingly shot his wife in the head

What are some albums you guys have listened to in specific/important/sad moments in your life that have been negatively/positively boosted because of that certain time of listening? I remember listening to Hop Along's 2018 album near the end of a relationship the same year and find it weird and kinda hard to listen to that album even though I didn't listen to the album with that person. Charli XCX's Pop 2 reminds me of running in the snow because it was a regular listen when I went for winter jogs last year (something I unfortunately opted against this year). Music can be a crazy non-visual time capsule. Sad how certain music can be ruined/ harder to listen to when listened to during rough times or opposite where a certain album motivates you from a past experience

Not albums but songs that I remember being severely unhappy at the time I was listening to them therefore not able to enjoy them properly.
I would tell myself 'one day I'm going to be happier than I am today and I'll remember how s***ty I felt listening to this song before and how incredible it is listening to it now.'

These songs remind me that times were once much worse and when they get bad again they'll eventually get better.
