It’s the style man, the charming idiosyncratic qualities of Raimi’s character himself. The things that make it feel cinematic and dripping with heart from an individual with a passion for the material. The MCU has some gems but it’s a lot of flat standard stuff that feels more like an extension of television. And honestly old CGI has developed its own aesthetic over time, even Lynch understood how to apply that when making Twin Peaks season 3.

I guess I mean more like it feels like a transitional record between the old Beatles and the Beatles of the mid to late 60’s. I love The Bends it’s my favorite next to Amnesiac, but it’s kind of the Beatles version of that in a way and I think their actual full on transition into bigger and better things came with Revolver. In their case the start of their more interesting sound isn’t as exciting as their actual change.

Help was the beginning of the new sound tho. Rubber Soul mastered it. Revolver was another transition.

None of the movies after 2 tried to be a horror film

Terminator 3 felt like a comedy

Salvation at least tried something different but it was just forgettable and I didn't see Genisys or Dark Fate, don't really want to either

Salvation felt closer to a horror film than T2 even tbh

i wish 3 and 4 were good so that cameron could've done 5 and made this a great series

Everyone still remembers the first two and that's all that matters

Wish they'd just let the series die along with Predator
