oh s*** you watching Violet Evergarden? great anime by probably the GOAT animation studio Kyoto Animation it’s one of the less “weeb” shows tbh, way more concerned with drama, emotion, and realism than the more childish stuff in a lot of battle shonen.

is this one of your first shows or have you seen any anime in the past?

i have a friend that's the same. he'll sit through thousands of hours of s***ty reality tv and sitcoms but a 2 hour movie feels like too much of a commitment.

ok so you got some classics under your belt. imo all of those are pretty overrated (maybe except Brotherhood) but all of em are good shows. i’m actually in the middle of watching Steins Gate myself.

trust you don’t know the half of it, lmk your reaction to the episode where Violet is staying with the mother and daughter in the country that one legit f***ed me up lmao.

but yeah that’s Kyoto Ani for ya! they specialize in making beautifully animated, surprisingly mature slice of life anime (more realistic genre of anime mostly about the every day lives of characters).

anyways, if you need recommendations after VE, you know who to come to 👍
