the only retro ones ive seen are mothra, godzilla vs. king kong and the one with his son. i prefer horror godzilla to the goofy ones.

same, these are ones with more serious tone, like in that giant monsters all-out attack godzilla is finally evil as f*** again, theres kinda stupid goofy human story tho, but its a godzilla movie

i still haven't watched those goofiest ones from the 60s and 70s and tbh i don't if i want to :D

excluding grateful dead and some obvious ones like hendrix, pink floyd, yes, Can, sister ray, funkadelic, king crimson. all 4 sides of Soft machine's Third could qualify too as could about 20 Zappa songs. not necessarily absolute top 10 but too hard to narrow down

and maybe this newest addition, amazing recent discovery:
