That could be said but The Dark Knight was the flick that really pushed capeshit to a more artistic level imo. Maybe not the highest grossing but made everyone take notice.

Do you distinctly remember when Kurt died ? A dude I worked with told me it was like a major event for him and his peers. I dont remember listening to my own music till around 97ish so I totally missed that.

Man the 90's really were something in itself, the disillusioned youth of alternative/grunge to the more mainstream pop and rap stardom in the later years. And that's not even mentioning the fashion, movies, etc.

Jumping to 2010's in general sense it doesn't even seem memorable in anyway expect Obama/Trump, the stardom of Drake and Taylor Shift, Lebron winning championships, Fortnite..
