Guess I’m the only one who’s firm in my belief that 2001 is better than The Chronic. That being said Chronic almost made my list.

And even tho I defend and still like the first couple Em records I do think he was better suited as like this irreverent jester character that pops up every once in a while in short bursts. Dre made the best use of him on 2001.

i prefer depressed/old Eminem with occasional goofiness to the Shady era stuff

I always saw Eminem albums like comedy albums. If you listen to them and get serious emotions out of it you're kind of a dumbass.

I liked the first song on MMLP2 and that video he did with Sasha Grey

It reads worse than it actually plays out. His bouncy flow makes this pop in context.

Rock Bottom still kinda hits pretty hard on an emotional level

He had his serious moments, just like a lot of comedians do

As for new darker/mature Eminem can't say I'm much of a fan but the hate on him is lame. The guy is insanely talented and when he's actually pissed off (like when he ripped MGK) he shreds.

That was the only song of his I liked in years.

I'd say the hate is justified, dude hasn't been able to craft a decent album in almost 2 full decades, even though he is still talented enough to rip MGK to shreds. Send some of that energy to your album making bruh.

And I was just f***ing around. "Kill You" is one of his best.
