ive marinated on some stunning gospel albums from Aretha, Elvis etc so maybe that helped

He could have delivered better lyrics but some songs are beautiful

I've seen loads of honking great piles of dog s*** so maybe that helped me

2nd half of Closed on Sunday is one of the highlights of the album but hate to say the song is dragged down a bit by some of the worst lyrics of his career. tiny detail but the ending "CHICK FILA !" scream pisses me off too

On God is satisfactory i guess

it's one of those albums where even though it's not great imo it still has moments and ideas where you can tell he hasn't lost it. (2nd half of closed on sunday, God Is, parts of Use This Gospel). not like one of those 7/10 albums where its still fine but you can tell the artist fell off completely
