this was back in 2013 so I dont think Craig Pillard was doing vocals but im sure it sounded sexy

im not a huge fan of his vocals tbh... I know yall stan that debut but I'm not as big on the super guttural style. my favorite from them is Diabolical Conquest with the dude from the Chasm on vocals

did anyone like the black midi album released this year? I'm digging a few songs on it

yeah i liked it, didnt love it but i liked the proggier style change. i wasnt a fan of their debut at all. also feel like the vocalist fixed his previous annoyingness

might be something that grows on me upon revisit because its so dense

they're crazy young so I see a lot of potential. The jazzy instrumentation for me is the most interesting part.

might just be because im paying a bit more attention but 2021 is shaping up to be really nice music-wise. especially now in the 2nd half of the year

Kanye, Turnstile, Darkside, Japanese Breakfast, Mach-Hommy, Spellling, Yola, Iceage, Mare Cognitum all dropped great albums for me. still got some metal ones i need to peep. even this Halsey album with Reznor/Ross is pretty nice

also anticipating the War on D****, Carcass, Moor Mother, Sufjan, Green Lung

    Album is f***in great.

  • Little Simz album is also very good but not some ridiculous masterpiece like some here make it out to be, just my honest opinion.

However, opening track "Introvert" IS one of the best tracks I've heard in a very long time and would top a 2021 song ranking if I made one.

It's great, still exploring the same glitchy world they were on Double Negative but the vocals are at the forefront a bit more. There's a 1-2 punch of "Hey" and "Days Like These" in the middle that has floored me every time I've listened to it

When the noise kicks in on the second part of the verse on "Days Like These" it adds 1 year to my life every time I hear it

Damn I bet they rip live. I kinda miss the heavy sounds of those first couple albums but they have anthems now as well
