Imagine the amount of music kids in the late 21st century will have at their disposal, I mean you can just keep going further down the timeline and the library just gets more massive
my great grandkids gonna be eatin
It's already too much I'm good here n now
A less over the top version of Demolition Man mixed with Her.
Demolition Man is probably more terrifying than 1984 for you isn't it
Yeah being in your early teens when rock and roll first came out then young adult when s*** started to get trippy would've tremendous. don't blame the boomers for mythologicizing the era.
kinda wild that there’s people still living who were already adults when rock ‘n roll started
what movie depicting the future do you guys think will be the most accurate
Wall-E, Sorry to Bother You and The Road
I would've been fine in the 70s and 80s too tbh
Was killing it in the 90s with my will smith CDs
2000s when I came of age and was into alot of current bands
2010s was more catching up on every other decade. At least the second half.

We just lost the last silent film star and rock and roll is 30 years younger than that so it's not too crazy yet. Jerry Lee Lewis still hanging in there. My grandma was born in 1933 so she's about the same age as those guys but was definitely too old to be listening to rock and roll when it came out as she was already a military wife.

No not really at all. It’s just an obsession with safety over freedom even the illusion of freedom seems more like a realistic path for humanity.
Nah I was strictly Wu Tang and Eminem etc by then

He won’t comment on it but it’s sort of a urban legend he wrote that and Miami

which decade would each Fam member fit the best in?
Being born in the late ‘50s/early ‘60s so you catch every major revolution in all genres while you’re young then enjoy middle age before 9/11 makes everything less fun

Also found out way after the fact that Nas wrote Dr Dre's verses on The Watcher which I always thought were incredible

The cold war made thing a little spooky back in those days too. They were raised on nuclear apocalypse paranoia whereas we are raised on climate apocalypse paranoia
grandparents had economic apocalypse
Grandkids probably have AI apocalypse

“they learn dances, brand new dances, like the nuclear bomb”
I wouldn’t say we’re completely over the cold war because we just went from US versus Russia to US versus China. Climate change is an increasing threat as is the conservative “Hollywood is decaying society’s morals by corrupting the youth” bs is stronger than ever.
I feel like the lack of diverse media coverage left a lot more to imagination which made things feel more dreary whereas now because we have such an intimate relationship with accessing information, We are imagining a lot less and “hypothesizing” a lot more; going from “knowing there are things we will never know” to “anything that can’t be easily accessed or explained is oppressive”

Considering there used to be a literal strict moral code on Hollywood for 30 years I doubt it is stronger than ever

I use Hollywood loosely, I’m more referring to the entertainment industry as a whole which includes musicians and social media stars more than movies and TV

Yeah I still don't know about that. There's definitely a vocal minority that won't shut up about it but the ones who actually hold the power are still allowing them to get away with whatever they want really.
