Some great albums here but Harry Styles? For Real?!
It can be quite derivative at points but I think there Are some fantastically crafted pop songs on this that utilize modern techniques to create an interesting retro/present blend and I find the lyricism to be quite interesting in today’s landscape
Films/ music/ games etc released in 2019 feel weird to put on an end of decade list... even 2018 at least has a little bit of time to judge its personal impact over time...
I think that there is something to be said for including works which capture a moment in your life - for example, I might still include an album that I listened to non-stop in 2011/12 (like XXX) even if I would rarely listen to it anymore. It seems to make the list more personal and less "critic-y" (by which I suppose I mean psuedo-authoritative in tone).

i get what you're saying but it's also a mentality i've tried to shed over the years. while there are some albums that are set in stone for me emotionally, i also try to judge things Marie Kondo style of "is this important to me right now?". embracing the current is more healthy than holding onto things you loved in the past.

I can't figure out when any of my favourites from this year would fit into a decade list

Not even Twigs? I think that’s the only one I’d include and maybe Bandana.

I'm sure if I did a decade list a year from now I'd have a few in there, but it just feels weird chucking stuff that's just come out alongside some of my faves from 5-10 years ago.

Yeah I get you, it’s only with albums which blow me away instantly on first few listens that I tend to include which is rare.

There’s not one song he’s released which I haven’t f***ed with.
Man can do no wrong.
darkness at the break of noon
shadows even the silver spoon
the handmade blade, the child's balloon
eclipses both the sun and moon
to understand you know too soon
there is no sense in trying
i know this entire song by heart
Had to go with a heavy weapon to take down De Nameless King
that Cinder guy didnt stand a chance after that. Gonna start the DLC's
"If we go by connections made / I can still climb ladders when complexions fade" might be the hardest line this decade.
