Realized I never listened to The Top so this a first time for me. Starting it off I was like this is a huge step back in terms of musical evolution for The Cure but then I realized they’re kinda just applying what they learned since their debut to some of what was hinted at in that. It’s less atmospheric but they’ve evolved for sure as song writers. Even just melodically it’s more distinct.
