My friend's old Irish dad (who also ended up being my sister's father-in-law) that I told you I had by far the best British Invasion chats with succumbed to his cancer yesterday too
apparently took a moment to make sure my sister knew his old music stuff was going to me
damn i'm sorry but that's cool you're getting his stuff
That would be cool to live through the British Invasion tho. wonder what it was like in person
it is tbh
Just revisited, definitely not. I am real f***in partial to some Octopus's Garden though
I don't know it just seems like such a lightweight pop album other than maybe two songs and even those are not deep. Like does Maxwell's Silver Hammer actually mean anything to you or is it just a gloriously produced pop song? It's possible these lyrics are as interesting and layered as White Albums and I'm just oblivious but they really don't seem like it.
The white album is fascinatingly cryptic and metaphorically layered in a way that rewards infinite listens but I felt like I knew exactly what every song on a Abbey Road was trying to say after 5 listens when I was 18
I agree with Lennon that Abbey Roads production is way too slick. You could whittle down the White Album into an excellent little folk album or an masterful rock album or a potent little semi psych album
it's almost a proto Pablo/Donda in the way you can retrospectively format it however you want these days. Actyally people were doing the same thing in the cassette days as well and in the CD burning days.
Abbey Road just is what it is
love abbey road but maybe that's why it's the one album from them that's hard to go back to, maybe overplayed it or it just doesn't have as much staying impact. cool to think of the white album like that
i cant fault anyone for thinking any of those prime beatles albums is the best
not that huge on Come Together or Something though honestly
apparently this band has a new album
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DPj33AIN7Yyea getting some Funeral vibes from the singles. think this is the best one yet
I just looked it up and apparently Maxwell's Silver Hammer nearly broke up the band single-handedly it was so bad
here comes the sun is better than almost any song on white album
here comes the sun is better than almost any song on white album
It's a beautiful medody but it's intent

great song, the world wasnt ready
Is McCartney claiming credit for that gloriously jarring I Want You/Here Come The Sun transition yet?
It's a beautiful medody but it's intent
the intent is lovely
might be biased since it was literally one of my first songs ever. theres something endearing about a song that friendly. it makes me cry tbqh

One ended Side A
great song, the world wasnt ready
I enjoy the hell out of it but I can imagine Lennon wanting to stab his eardrums when McCartney was making them do take after take of it while looking down on Georges dramatically better songs

what transition, you mean the side break
what transition, you mean the side break
Is that what a full-stop like that is called? A nega-
C’mon
