Talk Talk debut cool too.
Colour of Spring might still be my fav from them. It’s like prog rock but for dance music

accurate
He's got such a cold calculating way of judging stuff sometimes
i assumed he mostly liked 70s/80s grindhouse italian stuff
I know but the way he talked about cinema made me feel like he knew the history more

insane production
I don’t have patience for most prog or post rock. Ooooh you gotta 20 minute track with 6 different movements. You know what we used to call that, 6 different songs and it was perfectly fine like that. Split it up nerd.
This is funny as hell
Starting to think you might be Patrick Bateman
GYBE is like the one band where i fully understand the self indulgent/pretentious crticisim tbh. never heard a band that tries as hard as they do to be artsy
i will def be trying again at some point though

Yeah but you completely miss this feeling with that live 1966 Dylan stuff too which I can't comprehend because literally no recordings are more full of life

he likes a lot of weird kitschy stuff. like obscure 80s cheese metal and bon jovi type buttrock
but then he stans cool people like madonna and charli so it's not all terrible
I even prefer Swans more focused aggressive industrial material to their indulgent cinematic stuff.

i mean i still liked it just havent found a reason for me to download into my library yet. the live performance of like a rolling stone shown in the earlier part of NDH is cool but its just like...hes yelling louder and the great Band didnt manage to surpass the greatness of the studio instrumentation

how you can call anything pretentious and tryharding while stanning s*** like zappa and beefheart

lol i definitely wouldnt call myself a bon jovi fan, their album just turned out to be a 6/10 when i was expecting a 1/10

I rarely listen to that version of LARS to be honest that is not why we listen to it

that you didnt blow your head off within 30 seconds of listening to it is enough

because those are 2 of the purest and truest artistic spirits of the popular music era. i dont feel the same inspiration with gybe

Oh I know his musical taste intimately and 90% of the time we agree but the odd time I completely am oblivious to why he would like something and vice versa
insane production
The thing I like most about the songs you and I posted is how it’s rock but you could still groove to it
the next two albums feel too stationary and reflective
The chorus 3 mins in on the song you posted
sounds like Peter Gabriel
