Deadpool and Ant Man have to be some of the most unappealing, run of the mill s*** ever and i havent even seen them
Ant Man was kinda entertaining at least. i can’t f*** with that corny ass Deadpool bullshit tho
Again I’m not anti comic book movies. I’m excited for the new Spidey and the new Dr Strange. But this is worth a watch. It relates to what we were talking about in terms of how it effects the industry.

Thanks. I genuinely don’t think very highly of myself. I get anxiety when someone pulls out a camera lol.

Those sadboi records in the back
The Colour of Spring is great cause they're leaning slightly towards the wanky post-rock textures of the later albums but still have their feet firmly planted in the catchy synth-pop zone

Crazy how the least depressing one is Ok Computer

I just relistened to it yesterday. It’s great. It’s definitely the transitional record. That being said I think I prefer when they’re at the peak of their synthpop sound on the previous record and when they make the full transition with Spirit of Eden. They don’t have a bad song in my opinion and all of their albums are great. Laughing Stock may be a bit too formless for me to make it to the top and the debut is a little unrefined if I’m being picky. Number one stays the same but the rest could all move around depending on my mood.
1. Spirit of Eden
2. It’s My Life
3. Laughing Stock
4. The Color of Spring
5. The Party’s Over

If the camera was from a different wider angle you’d see Smile, Odyssey & Oracle, Swordfishtrombones, Bottomless Pit (random I know), and Slouvaki. I usually just buy records to display that I had a connection with at some point in my life and have good artwork. It just happen to turn out to be mu core lol

Laughing Stock is good but I don’t really feel like they built upon the sound of SoE much and took a bit of a step backwards songwriting wise.
You heard Mark Hollis solo album?

Production is bonkers, insanely layered and vibrant music

Laughing Stock a bit more consistent to me tbh. also feels less songwriting-y as a whole and even more textural. needed a longer time to grow on me though
can never decide which i like more, both masterpieces

I actually think they've progressed somewhat and managed to embed the giant choruses into the post-rock/slow-core constructions a bit better and as rvi already said is a bit more textural. However, these choruses absolutely slay on Spirit of Eden while they work less often on Laughing Stock imo.
i can understand people being bored by Myrrhman, Taphead, and Runeii but eventually they just clicked for me as part of the whole package. im not out here just blasting Taphead on its own but it accentuates both of the album's highlights before and after it
spirit of eden’s a side is overall stronger but laughing stock is the better album
