They generally seem like friendly guys as well. Especially if the band is singing about wizards and s***.

I'm basic obv compared to riffsquad
Sabbath probably my favorite band of the '70s and Priest one of my favorite bands of the last couple years
I used to jam Maiden in high school but never found another song that got me off like Wicker Man Always like the sludge metal riffsquad shows me and bought some Electric Wizard. Recently Jane's Addictions mixture of funk and metal has been blowing me away
A lot of it doesn't hit

Sludge/stoner/doom is what that stuff is typically called. The labels can get silly and change all the time.

seems like rn you just like the classic traditional "heavy metal" style along with some heavily Sabbath influenced bands like the stoner s***. and non-metal bands which incorporate some occasional metallic heaviness like janes addiction and smashing pumpkins.
you just havent got acclimated yet to the trve kvlt metal

I’ve never really gotten into it much either though, the vocals throw me off every time lol. A few cool bands I’ve jammed over the years tho.

You ever tried Faith No More or Queensryche? I guess you've already heard the sludge/stoner classics and are not necessarily into that abrasive vocals.

Oh yeah duh also Metallica was the first rock and roll band I listened to when I was a little raphead and they were pretty life-changing

if Patton is too operatic for you I'm not sure you'd like Queensryche. Thought about them because of Priest and Maiden but here's a highlight.
