Yup
All it needed was a sax instead of a guitar
Very nearly as many songs pinched that Blueberry Hill groove as they did the Bo Diddley beat tbh
New Order really is boring af.
Are you aware how much balls Blue Monday took and are just being edgy or? Also the second half of Perfect Kiss is like literally the most exciting moment of the whole decade

Jim Steinman was keeping the real spirit of rock and roll alive not that stinkin Hooky

Released yesterday
New order is awesome, but I certainly understand if it doesn’t appeal to someone else.

It took me awhile to get into them
Republic was the first album that clicked for me

Had me GROOVIN’

The vocals were my issue at first, but yeah after a few albums everything clicked. Easily a top 5 band ever for me

That’s crazy. I like Republic but it’s probably their first less than great album.

First? Nothing on the two before it is memorable to me; bonus tracks don’t count.

Not kidding about the vocals. Ian would’ve killed with his brooding.

Round & Round and Bizarre Love Triangle are some of the best pop songs ever written. You’re on crack.

Regret a top 5 new order song tho
New Order balancing post-punk and post-disco is still too unique to be copied
Just heard some Eno and then Reflector back to back on my random playlist and then almost cried at the thought of him producing Coldplay all this time instead of AF
Just realized how Fats the groove on Oh Darling is
already considered it a heavy Little Richard homage but Domino too
I can’t even comprehend what he’s saying. Republic is fine, but it’s like overtly less interesting on every level than the previous two records. It’s not as melodically pleasant. It’s not as instrumentally engaging. It rides the same sort of energy all the way through and isn’t that unique in their discography. I don’t think he’s counting the spoken word record as one of the previous albums.
