They do this with a lot of Hong Kong gangster films. They throw in text at the end to say the evil protagonist turns himself in, or that one of the characters was an undercover cop the whole time who arrested all his friends.

You can't depict police corruption as an institution either. It's either one disgraced ex-cop gone rogue or if it involves a corrupt police force, they set the film in Thailand or Indonesia lol.

Their ending for Lord of War is even better.
