Scaruffi was described by some friends and colleagues as a pedophile. His friend Dan Morrell, the New York Times journalist who profiled him in 2006, described him as "pedo-esque", saying: "Every once in a while there'd be something about children and I'd be, 'But Piero, I have children,' and he was like 'Yes, yes, I don't mean yours.' He had a definite Pedosexual streak, the belief that there should be no age limits and that he should marry a 12-year old", a view he appears to have continued to maintain throughout his later years. According to Morrell, Scaruffi once attacked a prepubescent girl in a restaurant with a smashed wineglass, saying "I wanna f*** kids". During a lecture in Berlin, the audience rioted after Scaruffi sang the Oingo Boingo song "Little Girls", including a verse omitted since 1981 for its pedophilic associations.23

    Nico story copypasta

  • Nico's friend Danny Fields, the American journalist who helped her sign to Elektra Records, described her as "Nazi-esque", saying: "Every once in a while there'd be something about Jews and I'd be, 'But Nico, I'm Jewish,' and she was like 'Yes, yes, I don't mean you.' She had a definite Nordic Aryan streak, the belief that she was physically, spiritually and creatively superior." According to Fields, in the early 1970s, Nico attacked a mixed-race woman at the Chelsea Hotel with a smashed wine glass, sticking it in her eye while saying, "I hate black people".

#271 most acclaimed album of all time according to acclaimedmusic, #91 of all time on rateyourmusic

im really just not hearing where the amazing inspired performance everyone is hearing is. not a fan of any MTV unplugged type stuff in general

always feels kinda wrong to say this kind of thing but would it really be quite as highly regarded if Cobain didnt die a few months after its recording?

I'm not sure if I can properly explain how paralyzing the haunted electricity and old-weird-America nuance of his voice is to a Zappa Grateful Dead stan :elon: the guitars are incredibly textured as well

disrespecting the "old weird America" aspect of the Dead there's a reason your goat called Garcia an older brother even though Garcia was younger

I genuinely think Cobain would have went on to make way more interesting and intimate music in the future. I could see him go down a similar road as Mark Kozelak.

By who. It’s popular on the radio but serious music people overlook it. It’s essentially a darker dramatic Madonna song.

I think when a song is that much of a cultural phenomenon its quality speaks for itself. Everyone knows Dont Speak.

And who is "serious music people" anyway? Those nerds can eat a d***
