Most criticism I’ve read comes from people having a hard time grasping the clash they feel in the film considering its simultaneously emotionally grounded, selectively campy, and aesthetically stylized. It’s length justifies its subtle tonal shifts and it’s 3rd act is a natural escalation and thematically wraps things up neatly. The humor comes out of how straight it plays some of the absurdity in its drama. The performances are perfect distillations of their characters but modernized in neat ways. It’s got an excellent score, distinct cinematography, and action that feels truly weighty. It’s a film informed by every previous live action interpretation including the 60’s show as well as various comic incarnations and does something new and interesting with its own reflection of that material.

i kinda dug it. Generally because of the environments. Scenes in the club, the church, the meeting points.

Not particularly invested in the batman's myth so kinda weird and funny seeing him play a detective cop basically with not much to actively do lol. it's humane that way and i like how pattinson plays

Have you ever watched the animated series from the 90’s. Him just kinda hanging out at crime scenes while the cops do s*** is some of my favorite stuff. It’s like awkward but hilarious. He’s like this weirdo trying to fit in with the real detectives.

I did like that they constantly pointed out what a weirdo he is cause really the whole premise of Batman is ridiculous

Yeah him and the Riddler are both implied virgins who hang out in their basement all day on their computers dressed up in weird costumes. Even Pattinson’s body language when Catwoman starts to kind of flirt is like a shy guy who’s never gotten close to a woman. I know you didn’t like Dano’s performance but it totally worked for me, I found his temper tantrums in prison very funny. Lol
