I don’t get how someone could think that was cool but Kim is corny. I think just making the hook them calling each other names is a lazy choice. The juxtaposition in Kim between the raw rage of the verses compared to the bed time lullaby of the chorus is effective where what Kendrick is doing isn’t.

Also I really can’t gauge the politics I hear people talking about in the Kendrick album. One song he’ll mock cancel culture and defend free speech, then he’ll be like I have to confront how I objectify women. Maybe he’s not NPR lecturing and he just has his own views like average people.
