Child in time a top 10 metal song of the ‘70s

Smoke on the Water overplayed but I still f*** with it.

very borderline, and child in time definitely a metal song. if it was itd be top 5 of 70s
i kinda feel like counting Deep Purple In Rock as a full on metal album discounts its influence on hard rock. its basically the prototypical hard rock style. if its metal and not 'proto-metal' then so is Uriah Heep, Atomic Rooster, Buffalo, Montrose, etc and that just feels wrong.
and we were talking rock in a more traditional sense, didnt want to include MoR the most purely metal and least hard rock of all the Sab albums

One of my fav Blackmore solos

You know who does get enough credit for pioneering hard rock? Cream and Hendrix

Joke right? They get all the credit. Yardbirds and Kinks more like
Where would hard rock be without Dave Davies and Jeff Beck :mystery:
Didn’t Van Halen cover the kinks on the first album?
How much more credit do you need?
