My uncle used to feed his beagle nothing but hotdogs. Somehow still made it to nearly 20 years old.

It’s my favorite of the three but it’s not that much different. There’s a bit more color and melody on it but it still feels pretty amateur. Like they’re just young people messing around and hoping it sticks. They improve a lot more as musicians.

One of my favorite bands. When it comes to post punk they’re my jam.

its way different what are you talking about
new guitarist John McGeoch a master of texture
a whole new dimension added with the synth use as well

Nice, one of those bands I always digged the songs I've heard but never checked out.

A channel I watch just did a ranking of their discography which inspired this comment in the first place and all the hosts had their first 3 at the bottom in a different order which made me feel not crazy finally when it comes to this opinion. One of them perfectly described Kaleidoscope as the band distancing itself from the cold and roughness of the previous two while allowing the clouds to open up and bring in some light. It’s different, but the band hasn’t dramatically improved as songwriters or musicians generally. It’s like a minor natural stepping stone from post punk to new wave that most bands around then were doing. I will give it a re-listen just for you.

you and your channels
the groove they found in 1980 is still their most potent for me, especially when you include singles Israel/Red Over White which is one of the best of the decade. Lunar Camel their coolest song :datass: and sounds like a totally different band than the first two albums
only up to Tinderbox but Juju the only one more consistent than Kaleidoscope

It’s the same one channel. They just rank albums. It’s just a nice time waster and reminder to get back into certain discographies or revisit some.
Y’all can get f***ed with that Scream hate
!https://youtu.be/EkMXT74uxk0Join Hands though
It’s an interesting and influential record. I don’t hate it, there’s some highlights for sure, but I don’t ever want to hear it again.

They’re all like 38 year olds who listen to like 100 albums a week, they’re not noobs lol. But yeah that would be fun lol
