When the Music's Over is amazing and Krieger's best guitar work. some nice unsettling weird atmosphere on some of those songs in a different way from the debut too. not huge on People Are Strange though even tho it was the first doors song i ever heard

still might not make the cut for my list

i’d argue he was better on la woman but i digress

i’m not really into when the music’s over that much, just felt like a rehash of the end

i never thought when the musics over was very similar to the End at all except the length. (and maybe the lyrics about finality)

was written around the same time as The End anyway in 1966 so its not like they just cooked up another The End when it was time to make the 2nd album, i think they just knew they couldnt really be on the same album as each other

yea i’m just saying it like that’s how i felt it was instead of what it actually is

then again i don’t listen to that one often

I guess it's the form. A rather long epic with a dramatic (semi)-spoken word sequence

one of those "dreaded" one-sentence choruses of a trite phrase that gets repeated way too many times

one of those "dreaded" one-sentence choruses of a trite phrase that gets repeated way too many times

it says it 9 times total through 11 minutes and Morrison's delivery makes it not repetitive at all

this my first time encountering big Doors fans who don't uphold that song as one of their peaks tbh

Strange Days is a pretty great album imo. A bit more lowkey than the debut but the atmosphere is quite dense and it feels a bit colder (not necessarily a bad thing).

that's one of the best moments imo. Really love how lost and desolate he sounds here until it explodes.

check out the lyrics for this song (Bruce D***inson-less Maiden)

ive never even bothered to listen but i saw someone crunch the numbers and the repeating chorus literally makes up a whole 5 minutes or something insane like that

The influence it had on post-punk is crazy

Never justified it's existence let alone length for me. Rather listen to Horse Latitudes.

I’d say the organ solo is more impressive than the guitar solo

Summer Breeze by the Isleys has a better solo than Light My Fire

wouldn't disagree. Manzarek my favorite rock pianist/keyboardist/organist and this might be his recorded peak imo.

Horse Latitudes is fire so i wont complain about that

yall would feel differently anyway if you experienced it live in their heyday with it as the likely peak of the live set and Morrisons stage persona
