i been waiting for this one
I feel like he should've left some songs entirely up to his old in house producers. I feel like his beat skills werent good enough to warrant him being like "alright ima do every beat on the album". He wasnt Just Blaze, Timbaland, even Quik or Daz level.
S***, Nate Dogg prolly woulda had that ost hooked up
DJ Quik is probably one of the most underrated producers in rap not because people don't know his name or w/e but skill wise he's right up there with Dre imo. Mon had mastered that west coast sound
@rise_zero @Very_Based
Heat 2 de novel
interesting
right now I'm reading 'Sun and Steel' by Yukio Mishima. I probably mentioned this in this thread but Mishima was a writer/actor/poet who committed seppuku by beheading in the middle of Tokyo after his political movement failed.
The book is about the philosophy of exercise, specifically weights, and his own personal relationship with his body. It also goes into his politics and philosophy, and their relationship to bodybuilding. Mishima concerned himself with the idea of the "Steel" (the old Samurai way of being) which he believed a Post-War Japan had lost to the encroaching Westernization.

Speaking of steel I only just found out Stalin was a merging of Steele + Lenin man's real name was Jughashvili
@HeyFella @Koala Louie on Flagrant 2 is a godsend
Really funny podcast. He’s going on Tim Dillon soon too.
Okay Blonde On Blonde relisten is so potent. When he elongates that note in One Of Us Must Know and the band comes in harder I got chills and almost cried.

Hoping for a classic. Louie talking about how Top Gun Maverick made him emotional had me dying.
Blonde on Blonde was the first thing that pulled me out of my "i only wanna listen to music that makes my head explode" mentality so it'll get my #1 spot by default. def a 5/5 mastapiece musical landmark for me
Also my first real break up album. I remember drinking cheap rum and jamming Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands on repeat

That one's a little too tender for me to listen to after a breakup the couple before it are a little more venomous and made me feel better
For me, it's "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again".
