Fav short story collections im thinking

I'm not sure it's your style but I really like Tenth of December by George Saunders, and it's worth checking out. These days I'm trying to get more into Chekhov, who think is possibly more up your alley.

Also Werner Herzog just wrote a novel that I was thinking of checking out. It's based on a true story of this WW2 Japanese soldier who hid in the jungle of the Philippines until the 70s because he didn't know the war was over.

The Things They Carried was cool. I thought it got a bit weaker as it went on but some of the stories were really amazing, especially the first one.

The first one is the one that really sticks out to me as well but it works so well as a collection cause of how all the pieces fit together. Definitely feels like more than the sum of its parts
