Currently looking through people's lists from previous decades and I think the most impressive thing I've seen is rise managing to vote Neurosis #1 for 3 different decades

For the 2000s too? Was it The Eye of Every Storm?
Ye I think so.
That would be different now. They're a lock for the 90s for me but not anything after. Still top 5 though.
Most of my favorite bands are still going. I haven't heard Oasis's last album and I'm not crazy about any Black Flag after Slip It In.
oasis last album is alright. def. not their worst

I think you were just boosting their score. For 2000s it worked but Your #1 for 2010s was its only vote

When I inevitably dive deep into random artists late career/non prime albums I will know to go to you for an opinion or two

I've barely listened to anything after Be Here Now

Could've just been my mood at the time. Those albums would still be top 10 for me but not #1.

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ORKSSYZKpU&t=100sYall saw that Botch put out its newest tune in 20 years, said to be a one n done but making a video for that seems kinda.. specious.. They still sound p good, gym anthem no doubt

do you ever dive into artists full discographies? i get the feeling you dont really. or at least just delving far in for the artists with big discogs
A lot of supposedly middling mid-late career albums end up kicking ass when I listen to them

Not really. I am bad for sticking with just a few albums for most artists and only really go deep in for my favs. Plan on doing deep dives after 60s list is done
i guess the smiths had a decent one
F***
how could I forget the most cataclysmic one
Works as a breakup song too

Some discogs just go on forever and once you start hearing the band burning out it's over for me usually. Happens with a lot of metal bands, they just keep going. I get it's their job and s*** but
Also the 60s guys like Dylan and Bowie. Who's gonna listen to all that s***
90s Stones?
Bob Dylan and Neil Young are the first on my list for artists that I need to listen for late-career stuff

I think 70-90s Dylan is generally pretty lame but he got cool again as an old man

90s Stones?
i listened to all the Stones albums, most of them were at least decent or tolerable but Dirty Work from the 80s was one of the worst pieces of s*** ive heard

Eno did it right. Made GOAT rock albums in his prime and just produced after that and f***ed around and made a bunch of ambient stuff
sonic youth full discography 🤤

70s
I think his 70s is a bit overrated but this very thread voted Blood on the Tracks to #6 in the 70s (a bit egregious, I do agree)

not expecting you to jump ahead but sonic youth also had a good one

I mean I would never tell an artist to stop creating no matter how s*** their output was, but yeah
