Yeah I was in a heavy Dax/Acid Bath phase a few years ago
Dax is cool as f***. He even has a killer Bright Eyes cover which was surprising. Didn’t expect him to be into either band.

Yeah, I figured you'd like his stuff. His project Deadboy & The Elephantmen is good too.
I always feel like I gotta rewatch this one, minus his horrendous plastic surgery Cimino was a real one and did it his way
i haven't watch it in probably 10 years
It’s objectively faster paced than Sopranos
oh i mean that’s cool, but I’ve never seen Sopranos outside of first episode
@sace didn't realize McArthur, Hoover and Patton were such f***in heroes

had some long drives this weekend so i listened to a bunch of 60s records
trout mask - a ton of fun...i forgot basically everything about this record man...dachau blues, running on laserbeans, a squid eating dough in a polyethyline bag...my impression from back in the day that it goes on a bit too long still holds tho
stand up - id heard this record before but wrote it off as "not proggy enough"
but it absolutely slaps and hes shredding on the flute all over this s*** will be high on my list
presenting the ronnettes featuring veronica - 11/10 not a wrong note easily top 5 of the decade man (i knew this already just wanted a palette cleanser after TMR
)
heatwave - the good songs go absolutely insane and martha is such a force of nature but a few of the covers dont work for me...then he kissed me needs that girlish wide eyed naivete and her voice is too powerful....still great and quicksand heatwave hammer etc are nuts
jackson c frank - this was cool he has a great voice and actual memorable tunes but i do zone out a bit with the singer/songwriter stuff....if im listening to lyrics deeply enough to know what the songs about thats like the 3rd or 4th time im listening to a record. i think thats why i struggle with the genre cause lyrics are such a big part. will revisit
nico chelsae girl - i broke down in the whip man she was the f***ing best...one of my fave records in general...its not super consistent but if a record has 2 or 3 10/10 classic songs then im willing to overlook the rest...ill rate an album with 3 or 4 all timers and the rest of the tracks ok higher than i will an album with no skips only good to great songs a lot of the time
and this album has like 3 of my favorite songs of all time on it
Anyone else gonna have this on their 60’s list? It’s been years since I’ve revisited it in full but it hit much harder this time. Definitely sneaking in somewhere on my list. Such a unique hypnotizing quality to it.

That Jackson C Frank record is worth just vibing to repeatedly. It’s got a unique sound compared to a lot of other singer songwriter stuff. There’s this warm but sort of ghostly atmosphere to it, like as if you’re hearing songs from someone who’s already dead but weirdly content with that. He’s also just really strong melodically that you don’t have to focus in on the lyrics too much.
