When did Nick Drake and Big Star get rediscovered anyway? Was way before my time

Probably around the whole indie/folk revival wave in the early 2000s

Big Star influenced the ‘80s indie scene enormously. Replacements got a song named after their guitarist.

Nick prob rediscovered in the ‘90s

They were always known... With Big Star, you can maybe point to the early 90s for a big popularity rise because it's when they reissued Third and the unreleased Chris Bell album on CD.

    Third is a goddamn masterpiece

Could see it influencing some shambolic acoustic stuff from Elliott to Beck even

Yeah Elliott covered a Big Star song so he was definitely a fan. Seemed like his type of music.

    He also did this

Just realized how badly I need to see oasis live one of those bands whose lyrics immediately sank into my brain and to sing along with the whole stadium would be magical

There is nothing else on there remotely as good as this unfortunately but it's worth a few listens

I think the closest you'll get it is going to a Liam show and hope he plays Live Forever or something

Yeah when I was living in Canada I really struggled with the dodgy football times. I remember getting up at like 5:30 for games

speaking of that time the entire highway from vancouver to whistler you took that passes right by my front yard is shut down for a giant marathon today and its a little brisk this morning
