you should give From Elvis In Memphis an earnest listen for me. goes up a couple spots in my 60s ranking every time i listen to it.
Man... I never cared for Elvis whatsoever...
The nurse walking by like nothing is wrong with a dude grabbing a pillow with clear intent in his face is a sort of f***ed up comedy gold about this show
One less patient to deal with
How do you guys wanna die? I think it'd be cool to have my death be so mysterious or f***ed up that it warrants its own Wikipedia page a la Elisa Lam.
waiting till im 70 to take up skydiving so maybe that

How's your list going along? You and Elric are the supreme dustheads I'm most curious to see how your lists pan out.

I remember one decade, I think it was the 80s, arel posted like 40 releases from some Japanese dude and some other obscure stuff
That'll basically be my 60s list but with Dylan

Not until end of November lol. You'd know if it was close I'd be spamming @'s bi-daily. Will probably post mine mid-October to get the ball rolling and start to be more aggressive in my collecting after that
So why rec him lol
because tastes evolve and maybe youre at the point where you can appreciate the artistry now :elon: worth a shot. one of the best produced albums ever regardless what you think of elvis' voice (who was at his peak and could blow away anybody at this point)

Can always count on arel to fade into the shadows and re-appear with a list for me every time I ask for one
Wish atl was around. He was on racism timeout when I made the first 2010s thread. Would love to get a 60s or 10s redux from him. Hope he's doing well though

elvis found a new producer who managed to perfectly blend soul, country, folk, blues, gospel into an insane piece of work that needs to be heard at least once. tbh its like the 60s version of Steinman.

i think the recording is pretty amazing but some of the hard panning kinda neuters it (rhythm section mainly) on headphones for me. still not something i would complain a ton about but i feel like its at the awkward spot where there were no mono mixes anymore but still some quirks in stereo mixes that soon went away
