Isn't it right there in the name conservative? Don't they conserve their and traditional way of life and wealth and consider any social progress and philanthropy to be socialism if not communism? They're playing a different game with different goals. It's time I admit I'm a pea brain low life that doesn't really know what he's talking about.

I just understand that Iger is selling a product and once Gina decided to make herself repellent to such a diverse group of customers it's pretty obvious why she had to go. She was making jokes on wearing masks and inflaming s*** around the time people were spitting on nurses and my partner is a nurse so f*** her.

The thing is, it ain't really social progress though. Nike can sit here and tell you they are a progressive company that wants to promote BLM, LGBT rights, etc. but they are still a company that runs sweatshops in Indonesia and all these liberals crying about people making insensitive comments are silent about real problems like that. That got nothing to do with social progress, it's just plain hypocrisy and ignorance.

And everyone is free to hate someone like Gina Carano. But it's pretty disingenuous when someone like Amy Schumer literally plagiarizes her material but has more of a career than Gina. Like she f***ed up in a way that actually is relevant to her job but Gina says some unrelated s*** that is controversial and that matters more?

Only conservative voters commend on Nike and other companies labor abuse? only liberals get offended? C'mon man we've seen the phrase snowflake do so many 180s over the last few years it's dizzying and I definitely hear about labor abuse on all the librul media.

Also idk how it's the liberals fault amy schumer has a career, everybody seems to hate her. We can blame things like that on people with bad taste not any particular political party.

I generally get what you're saying but don't see your endgame I guess

Only conservative voters commend on Nike and other companies labor abuse? only liberals get offended? C'mon man we've seen the phrase snowflake do so many 180s over the last few years it's dizzying and I definitely hear about labor abuse on all the librul media.

I'm speaking in generalizations because in general liberals are going to promote small ass s*** like individuals making certain comments over whole corporate practices. S***, I still remember when Disney blacklisted the LA Times from their movie premieres because they dared criticize their blackmailing theater practices. And ever since then, no major media outlet is trying to criticize Disney over their corporate practices. Schumer has a career because she is PC to the elitist liberal group that she panders to despite being unfunny and untalented. And that is the hypocrisy there. "You can offend anybody except the groups that I care about" ass mentality

My endgame is that cancel culture is bullshit and liberals are hypocrites. It would be better if people (and by extension corporations) got off their high horses and evaluated the work on its merit rather than how PC it is. People keep saying punching down isn't funny so if it isn't, then let comedians do that and we will see how they are received because the perception of art should boil down to how many people are willing to praise and support something right?

I think you may have an Amy Schumer complex cause nobody likes her bro. She gets roasted from every angle.

Agree about the merits, Donda was a good example of s***ty reviews for tremendous work. However look at the trajectory Kanye has taken when you decide to become the Antichrist to PC culture.

Regarding your edit it's hard to guage how well your punching down goes when you do it over a podcast or Twitter to your followers instead an actual comedy club of randoms on a Saturday

idk, Dave Chappelle punched down on Netflix specials and SNL and he is still one of the most loved comedians despite how much the media would tell you otherwise. People loved those specials. I think it is also just about the execution. Shane Gillis ain't saying the same racist jokes that got him fired from SNL. He improved his stand up and while he still will say offensive s***, it's done with more tact and humor.

You didn't hear that he did a different monologue than he rehearsed? No way Lorne wouldve let that "if they're Jewish it's a coincidence and you're not supposed to talk about it" fly and rightly so. I imagine he's was quietly fuming.

Yeah Shanes has a masterly level of control now as far as jokes that build up and shatter expectations over and over and I hope he gets another shot.

I needed that concert. Had a really hard week. I'm in a program where I work with high school students with records and addiction issues and one of my favorites dropped out to go to rehab I kind of watched her slowly kill herself over the past couple months and couldn't do anything about it. I'm glad she's getting help now.

One of my favorite things about the Flaming Lips' music, especially evident on Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi, is their grasp of death as an inevitability and appreciation for life as a period of appreciation and celebration, and this show had a lot of those songs in it. After everything that happened this week, I cried really hard on my wife's shoulder to Waitin' on a Superman.

The show had been rescheduled a bunch of times because of covid and it couldn't have come at a better time. American Head was a really great comeback for them IMO and those songs sounded great. Always a great live band working with more great material.

But yeah I'll end this post with this classic that sums it all up:

I feel I was hearing about it a few years back, and that was mostly like from Twitter randoms. But then a mainstream outlet like LA Times covered it and a whole s*** storm ensued. I don't think anyone really talks about it as much now and most of the major movie studios are doing the same s*** to theaters now.

Nobody likes her, yet she still gets into movies, still does award shows, still does stand up. She does that cuz she doesn't offend her industry connections. That's my issue. You can plagiarize, be routinely terrible at your art, and offend any group you want as long as it isn't a group that these liberals care about and still get promoted by these elites.

Yeah, Kanye's trajectory is pretty sad but I also think he has always been anti media and with the way the media and corporations have taken progressive beliefs and found a way to profit off of it without any credit or help towards those who first challenged them on it (because social progressivism was counter culture in the 2000s) is part of why I feel Kanye was pretty ticked off even during Yeezus era with his war on corporations and the media. The problem with him is that he's now spiraled into this neo nazi mentality and I feel that probably is what happens when all your friends and family are fake af and just trying to take advantage of you. Man's hard compensated and found himself in yet another echo chamber.
