scaruffi comparing Lupe to Bob Dylan
"His visionary lyrics and sociopolitical themes transform him into a sort of Bob Dylan of rap music."
Also;
""I prefer girls to reign all over the world
And not rain like, rain man or rain like rain dance
Or rain like a slight chance of rain when it's raining
Or rein like deer slaves to Santa Claus sleigh man
But reign like Queens that reign over made man
And not Queen like Queen killer, rhapsody bohemian Queen
But Queen, like white glove wave hand""
Such a jumbled mess of wordplay, can't get behind this lyrical miracle shtuff here.

isn't that from Mural, a song, which focuses mostly on word play to create a "mural of words" so it makes sense it's a little "overboarding"? It tries to paint many images but also paint an image with sound with his word play and flow.

You can’t post s*** like this and act like Highway 61 is in anyway different in terms of pretentiousness

“The sun ain’t yellow, it’s chicken”
dylan is a lyrical miracle but he is the best at it so its a good thing

lmao Lupe is nowhere near Dylan’s level as a lyricist, let’s clear this up right naaaa

threw on The Mantle for de vinter vibes. For whatever reason this album always reminds me of vanilla ice cream and Ingmar Bergman
yah
it really sounds like Bob Dylan if you actually follow the images (somewhat surreal humor) and the commentary he creates and I think he does it very well. Why are we now focusing on rhymes and stop looking at content? (also, what I mentioned in my first response about the phonetic portion.)

you definitely should broski, those first 3 albums are excellent. They got the whole nature/folk/bm/post rock thing but manage to pull it off.. really good vanilla ice cream and Bergman vibes too.

Not consistently but you can’t pull one example of lyrics you don’t like to support your argument. Also, no one is really on Dylan’s level since dude has a friggin’ Novel Prize.
