@HeyFella this Sobs album has a lot of the same kinda melodies as XO/Figure 8 era Elliott Smith. Even production wise it reminds me of those albums.
I didn’t even think of that, but I can hear it now. It defintely has a 90’s feel in terms of production, but I was thinking more of late 90’s/early 00’s pop when it came to melody.
Aftermath the same then?
Yeah i think thats fair, neither version making my list tho

That’s S-tier Stones, though
I think I forgot to tbh
he alot more chill than the earlier stuff and just dropping causals pearls of wisdom
goofy but oddly moving

hes swung back around to Banquet and Bleed which have tremendous deep cuts but kinda feel like they're just playing the roles of american musicians. Glimmer Twins more convincing as mean b****** pop stars than a Street Fighting Men of the Salty Earth to me.

The pure mod appeal of Under My Thumb
Entire album feels so British even though it has very American roots

It nails almost everything about de blues though

its like an anti jam for me. at most moments there isnt anything interesting going on for me, which is opposite from a great jam where you can pick any individual part or the whole and have it be exciting. doesnt groove much, honestly maybe the rhythm section is more at fault than anyone else
some alright guitar licks. mick is fine but i get tired of what he's doing after like 5 minutes
Do you root for the same teams as the Oasis guys? I know Liam's always going off about Manchester and s***.

I don't think we're keeping this up, we haven't got the depth for it. Will be happy with second or third though
