    also US > UK

cursory glance tells me UK has a better band culture and Americans always gotta be solo f***ing free spirits

also idk what was really going on for german rock of the 80s and 90s (outside of hard rock/metal) tbh

if you are speaking stricly metal germany is a top country for sure, and in some niches #1

You know I just mean the fact that I listen to more krautock than anything else from a non English speaking country also Scorpions and Tokio Hotel

Charly Garcia is seeming insanely good to me rn, I think I'm liking his solo career that starts in the 80s more but he also had a few huge and important bands in the 70s. he did folk, prog, jazzrock, new wave, art pop. him and Spinetta (from almendra, pescado rabioso, invisible) are the 2 founding fathers of the country's rock scene. I already got into Spinetta years ago but I'm thinking Garcia is better tbh

this is the first song of his discography and also stone cold classic

and this one from a decade later:

also an iconic look with the bicolor mustache

    with maradona:

@Elric i also tried to show you a song from the latin american u2/stones/beatles equivalent, Soda Stereo but you shot it down instantly because of the production

you might like this stunning late 90s solo album from the bands mastermind better though, next level genre warping and mastery like some radiohead/bjork type s***. mix of rock, pop, electronica, some psychedelia

and this is the biggest anthem from Soda Stereo if you are interested, its like an anthem the level of Dont Look Back in Anger, Live Forever etc. for Argentine rock fans. just an undeniable riff and chorus. I'll link the live version from their last concert ever so you can see the scale of it (and dont hear 1990 production) packed stadium at the biggest soccer stadium in the country

get on charly garcia solo discog instead

also tons of other stuff i could list that ive been exploring but Cerati, Spinetta and Garcia pretty much their all time big 3

90s latin alternative stuff is super fire too, they also had a lot of great 80s bands just in general rock styles and the scene thrived once the dictatorship ended

its more about the overall scene and one favorite artist wouldnt push either over the edge for me. and seems like the scene down there might have been better. im talking pitting their top 100 albums against each other

also wouldnt be surprised if i ended up valuing of the entire oeuvre of one of those goats over Band even though their short prime is top tier to me. it would be more of a comparison of Neil Young type figures if anything

just nothing remotely appealing about that singer or production. repellant tbh. if it was english my s***ty towns radio station wouldve played it all day.
