Large part of that is cause of the ending of Life Aquatic, but that song always makes me
Finally wrote my year end list for RYM. I've been busy finishing my novel and recording/mixing an album, so this got pushed to the backburner, but it was nice to review music again:

I don't expect anyone to read this s*** all the way through, but feel free to peruse the entries to get a vibe for what I listened to last year.

Read your intro and the Angel Olsen review (cause that's the only album I've listened to from this list) but I dug it. Feels like I've intruded on a therapy session haha but it's good.

COVID and isolation years were extremely f***ing weird looking back on it. I got through it living with my girlfriend and basically partying for 2 years but at the time, especially living in the city, it was kinda freaky.

There was a period at the beginning of the pandemic that I almost look back on fondly because it was such a necessary pause. I was depressed and killing myself with how I was living but didn't really notice until I had to stop. Early lockdown was hard but I learned resilience from it.
Things got hella out of hand by summer though. Jesus some people are the worst.

That's rough, hope things are looking up. I was lucky and in a solid position where I could deal with it all but things could have easily gone south if it caught me at the wrong time in my life.

On the plus side, my fam actually net benefited from the situation because we could still work from home, just at fewer hours, and got the same stimulus checks as everyone else

2022 was the year of F***ed Up over here. Always liked them but they've become one of my favorite bands.
i will say the 60s list helped me find a few more gems/re-appreciate the decade in general after not listening to much for a bit
