why does RYM dislike this band so much?
"Halfway through & I have to stop. This got super annoying super fast, there’s literally nothing interesting going on & the “brutality” is the only draw. Even then, it gets stale pretty quick. This is my vote for most forgettable album of the year, proceed with caution if you want to listen."
"Brutality" lol what are they talking about
quebec though
They sound like some of those
non french Quebecois of which there are lots
F***ed Up's too "hipster" for a lot of metalheads and too weird for the plebby types
I like that they do things that in most people's hands would be come across as pretentious (insane concept albums and rock operas) but they strike a good balance between fun and earnestness that makes everything seem natural. It helps that Damian is just a good dude who seems to genuinely love what he does

Just surprised to see you like a prog technical trash metal band tbh

That's the only song I've heard seems like a pretty cool cover

They give me Ulver vibes. Year of the xx albums are basically the William Blake album with more riffs.
U ever seen the Drag Race show?

Yeah the older seasons. I haven't kept up with any of the newer ones. You?

I’ve only seen clips. My first gay friends in middle school tried to get me to watch it but it was boring to me back then.

I always got into that stuff through girls. I’d get sucked into it then by the third episode I’d be like “when’s Drag Race?
”

Grimes, Godspeed, Skinny Puppy, Neil. A lot of greats have come out of Canada
But then you also gave us Rush so you lose a few points for that
