Getting back into Smashing Pumpkins. Let’s go!

Gish is one of those albums though where everything on it is good, but not much of it really grips me other than the drumming. It’s just kinda solid early 90’s rock.

Yeah its pretty bleh. Drums go hard like you said and there are some cool riffs here and there but mostly it just sounds like a half baked Siamese Dream.

Yeah like you can throw all those songs on a Smashing Pumpkins playlist and if they come on shuffle it’s a good time, but they’re not distinct enough to crave going back to on their own.
listened to Wolf for the first time in ages since it’s the 10 year anniversary (which blows my f***ing mind lmao)
a lot of it is way more cringe to me now, but i still enjoy most of it. it’s an album you can just tell was made with a lot of love. from the purposeful and prestigious features to all the little details and skits dispersed across the hour+ runtime.

Used to be my least favorite of his cause it felt like an awkward transition between the rough around the edges darker “amateur” stuff and the typical “Easter basket” Tyler sound he’d eventually develop into. It’s definitely due for a revisit though. I’m sure I won’t cringe though cause I’m living in a “post-cringe” world lol. But yeah I also can’t believe it’s a decade old. We’re gonna die lmao

that’s why it’s my fav tho, i feel like that and Cherry Bomb were when his music was most interesting (and cuz i got into Tyler right after Goblin, so Wolf was the first album i anticipated as a fan.)
Not all of it was good, but the way those albums attempted and often succeeded in combining a lot of obnoxious amateurish sounds with more inventive and creative techniques and arrangements has always blown my mind. nobody else could’ve made those albums.

This is an interesting way of looking at it. Going back to it I’ll keep this in mind.
Watched Bacurau this evening, very fun
Pretty good. Starts off mysterious but then abandons that vibe for some Tarantino action.

The bit with the naked dude in the greenhouse
Spent the afternoon rolling on molly at a female friend’s apartment, cuddling on her couch, watching YouTube videos, laughing our asses off and talking
Back home now listening to Wakin on a Pretty Daze while plateauing from that high and I’m not sure I’ve ever been more relaxed in my life
F***ing great day fam

People insist using molly as a party/sex d*** but seriously, just find someone you care about, hold them and do fun s*** for 5 hours and it's about as much fun as you can have.
I appreciate the all the music recs btw the vibe is immaculate rn

i used to mainly save it for listening parties when a guarteed banger from Kanye or MIA or someone was coming out but its been a long ass time and kinda transitioned to acid instead lol
