damnnn about 20 of the same picks as me

That's nothing. I just cheat sheet @Aruji 's list every time and sprinkle in a few different ones to make it look like I'm not copying

Not bad songs in there but I think they serve zero purpose to the overarching WHICH / ONE (Escobar/St. paul/ picasso) storyline that he effortlessly executes up until Wolves (and sorta concludes with Saint Pablo.

I dont listen to albums like that

Fair enough and I don't usually either but TLOP feels so curated to that whole aesthetic and purpose that those 'bonus' songs sorta throw a wrench in the flow. His first 7 are all classics so I'm really just nitpicking

I feel like country vocalists these days all sound a little self serious and lack the charm that Hank, George, Merle etc had. Jack manages to conjure it imo.

Tyler Childers is the real deal, a rural kentucky boy from a coal family whos been doing it since he was a teenager. your mon jack white just doing a cosplay, i kinda like him has a vocalist in general but i cant really buy into his folksier side, only his raw rock/blues

these guys can still do an occasional more upbeat banger but yeah i do feel like the good non-pop country singers now tend to have a lot of depressing songs. makes sense being part of the time period + representing an increasingly dying lifestyle + rebelling against the partying attitude in blockbuster country music

also just wanna remind @pneumonia @Aruji and @Bourbon_Ben that editing will be open until deadline as well. Tagging y'all specifically since you all advertised you lists as first drafts near the start of the annaouncement. If you are still happy with your list, they all still follow criteria for voting so no worries if you don't plan on editing

maybe hank wouldve focused more on heartbreakers if the jaunty dinger lane was dominating the scene. i think i usually just end up linking you a heartbreaker because those tend to be the highlights, its not like these dudes are one-note

those heartbreakers tend to be hanks best ones anyway

Honestly this song isn’t bad, but it’s hard to take anything on that first album seriously with the fake southern twang she used.
