I don't believe any of you actually enjoy this. It's like sterile Blake Mills.

From the handful of songs I’ve heard he’s a pretty good lyricist, but the music is just standard country/americana.
What do you think of this emerging artist?

Gots that 90s/Sade sound which is pretty cool

I'm extremely love or hate when it comes to these singer/songwriter dudes. I either connect immediately or I f***ing hate them and hope them and their entire fanbase get hit by a meteor.
dam if you think that was a sterilized version youre gonna be disappointed in me for listening to this one repeat lately

I'm just not a country kid. Which is why all the folkers I've liked the most (Dylan, Elliott Smith) were for the most part city kids.

yeah I feel you. I like a lot of traditional country from the 60s-80s, but for some reason I have trouble connecting with most of the newer artists. The older s*** just seems more authentic to me.

Seems good but it's tough to make time for new country. Also I would be super embarrassed to have it blaring out of my car which is extremely rare. There's enough wannabe cowboy country douches out here doing that.

There just needs to be a certain cynicism to it. Cash and Dylan definitely had that. Willy Nelson too. Townes. But when it's chiming about the good ole days with the girl on by the river or whatever the f*** it just loses me.

tbf its as folk as it is country, not like blasting a luke combs hit or something

Country in a tough spot since it's the only genre that's synonymous with a way of life which has been dying out for a very long time so it's pretty hard to be authentic. It's like if there were gangster rappers in the movie Demolition Man.
