Back in my Bowie phase these days and damn it, returning to Blackstar, what a Veteran album. I'd even put it above Skeleton Tree

I know @aruji hates this song, but that sweet sweet pathos of “I Can’t Give Everything Away” is just achingly beautiful. Yes the song is all over the place but it’s an amalgamation of a ton of different styles Bowie played with over the years and obviously contains very specific references to earlier songs from the 70s. And the song’s subject, a man clearly aware of his own mortality, the struggle between acceptance of what’s to come and the regret of having not done enough. It’s all there in the very first lines.
