hey @HeyFella I know you're going through a rough time and sorry to use a platitude but s*** will get better we all gonna make it through in da end.
Always remember this one when I hear this track.
a poem for these times @twinkletoez
For nothing is fixed,
forever, forever, forever,
it is not fixed;
the earth is always shifting,
the light is always changing,
the sea does not cease to grind down rock.
Generations do not cease to be born,
and we are responsible to them
because we are the only witnesses they have.
The sea rises, the light fails,
lovers cling to each other,
and children cling to us.
The moment we cease to hold each other,
the moment we break faith with one another,
the sea engulfs us and the light goes out.
-James Baldwin
one of my all time favorites of his as well. never could figure out if this was fan made but always loved the MV for it. come remedy that my friend
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GugzLSbOQEthat really is a great video, fan made or not. timeless track
Porters set was amazing too and he brought out Madeon (one of my current favs in the electronic scene). He had a dj set but he had a whole band as well and he was playing the electric guitar so it was really cool to see rock - esque interpretations of his songs from Nurture.
Illenium is dope too tbh. I’ve been getting a lot more into edm music in general tbh. Dabin is another big fav of mine and I ofc love Bonobo.

Even got into some wholesome convos with people for the Frank show cuz that f***er delayed his show an extra hour
i saw quite a few people passing out tbh. Definitely bring a bag full of water bottles if you do go
typical frank. lucky it was only 1 hour and not 3. actually lucky he even showed up at all
please tell me you at least rock with this zenith

@Koala dropping knowledge. yeah apparently the song is structured thematically/stylistically around a New Orleans funeral or something. ironically one of his more hopeful songs though imo
I'd be surprised if you don't dig it, good bar room piano blues. Nice time to peep it broski
crazy how his style changed so much from this

Thank you man. I really appreciate it <3
need some new great Waits albums like Nick Cave has been doing recently
Was always hoping they would collaborate. A full blown project in the 90’s would have been perfect.

One of the best songs ever tbh, straight songwriting masterclass
The stuff he released through Blue Valentine is awesome and every bit as well written as what came later, but there's such an enormous gap in sound between the two halves of his career that it's unrealistic to expect everyone to love both styles (I do though)
No need to
