wait you’ve recommended it to me 3 times or 3 times itt or what? cuz i do not remember that i’ma read it today though, appreciate the rec. i’m saving his collections of short stories for after i read most of his novels, so all i know is what i saw in Drive My Car which seems to be a combination of some of his short stories

not to you specifically idk my memory is dogshit lol,

yeah drive my car and burning was another one. Liked the inclusion of Chekhov in drive my car as well. (Chekhov is the master of short fiction if you ever become interested or are interested in shorts)

Divers and the debut are great too though. Divers my fav sometimes. many gorgeous songs on there that are appealing for their more conventional/easier to follow structures, and it’s not way too f***ing long like Have One on Me (which also has a bunch of amazing songs, just too damn long for me)

Yeah HOoM is definitely a commitment. Almost every song is a masterpiece though. Worth it if you have the time

yeah it’s def worth listening to all the way through, i’ve just heard it too many times at this point and can’t stand the whole runtime in one sesh anymore. i was listening to that album on my breaks at Chick Fil A when i was 15

Arguably should be even higher tbh

I feel there’s been a lot of incredible music from women in the last few years and I def see a decent number of them shooting up in my top 25 as time goes on (particularly SZA, Jessie Ware and Big Thief imo)

Updated the rules to allow female band leaders in instrumental groups as long as it is undisputed that she is the lead. (to allow a band like the Seatbelts where Yako Kanno is the clear cut lead.)
