yeah I have some scuzzy friends and some rich friends. some of my all time favourite artists are from hideously affluent backgrounds (Gram, Malick). I dont really care as long as youre not Patrick Bateman about it.
i know Malick went to Harvard//Oxford but where are you getting the info that he had a hideously affluent background?.
this is pretty interesting, knew Mallick studied philosophy but didn't know this
After a disagreement with his advisor, Gilbert Ryle, over Malick's thesis on the concept of world in Kierkegaard, Heidegger, and Wittgenstein, Malick left Oxford without a degree.
also should set the record straight that while I grew up upper-middle class neither of my parents did. I just have a hyper-intellectual father (a lot smarter than me) who became very successful as doctor/professor/medical expert which is why I got very lucky as a kid.
I wish I cared about video games. I played 3/4ths of Final Fantasy 16 and loved it, but lost interest after a while. Even much shorter games like the new Mario aren't grabbing me. Love the way it looks, but I just don’t wanna sit down and play it. That new Spider-Man looks mediocre. It’s doubling down on all the bad design choices from the first game. I wanted to play Zelda, but it seemed like too much of an investment. Film and music is all I need.

If there's any games I think you'd care about it'd be Fromsoft. Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring.
F*** even Sekiro might appeal to your old samurai/horror movie s***.

Gf and I grinning like idiots playing this new Mario together running around as fat elephant versions of Mario and Princess. Unparalleled charm and creativity crammed into every level.

I played video games all the time growing up, but sorta lost interest after high school. When I’m at home I’d rather do the two things you said + watch sports and throw darts.

I don’t like miserably difficult games. Memorizing boss patterns to me is boring. They’d be more tolerable if they didn’t have that absurd save system. Bloodborne is the only one I’ve ever really wanted to get into because of the aesthetics.

They really aren't "miserably difficult" at all. That's become an internet thing, where anything hard means it's Dark Souls level hard. It's just about learning and adaptation.

I lost interest in games for years. When I was doing the whole bartending thing and all that. But got sucked back into it kinda right before COVID and I fell in love with it all again.
Only sport I ever truly cared about was skateboarding and I can still watch that stuff and get hyped.

@Elric if you can't f*** with this you're gay

Rise and to a lesser extent you were the reason I started playing Bloodborne.. so when I saw you didn’t even play it, that s*** hurt broski

I’ve noticed everyone says “that’s gay” and “that’s r3t@rd3d” again. Are we back boys? Cause I’m thinking we’re back!
